As a young girl, I found peace in making art. Join me to escape everyday life and dive into the world of art, in a warm, inviting space where all are welcomed as unique individuals with your own voice and vision.

Discover your intrinsic energies as you are guided to fine tune your vision. As I often remind my student: “Many times you draw what you think you see, not what is actually there.” It can be as subtle as adjusting a curved line that, on closer look, has a slight angle.

This level of discernment sharpens your awareness — not just in art, but in life. As you learn to see more clearly and return to your everyday life, you may find a new clarity spilling into other areas of your life.

When I was taking an educator pedagogy class, the professor walked in one day carrying a simple box of art supplies. As I sat back, just for a moment, I noticed something: the spark of excitement in my peers' eyes.

My degree in Urban Studies is where I learned about how communities work, from circle methods of management to hierarchical systems. I continue to be drawn to the circle, a model of collaboration, shared voice, and mutual respect.

As an art teacher, I often reflect on this foundation. In the studio, I teach the fundamentals of art and design, what lies beyond technique is something more profound: humility, connection, and shared human experience.

In the community of the studio, I believe something powerful happens. A connection is made — one rooted in our innate human desire to communicate through visual images and experiential moments. There is a unique kind of depth that arises when personal experiences are shared, seen, and understood by others. These small moments are transformative.

Making art is BOTH an individual act AND shared communal experience.
